Before<Before>Before<After>First, I had two types of facial contouring: square jaw reduction, chin surgery, cortical osteotomy, and masseter reduction, and it has been 2 weeks now. For my chin, I also had it advanced slightly. My lower face wasn’t exactly angular, but it felt a bit heavy and the asymmetry was severe, so I went around to consultations here and there. Then I met the doctor at this clinic and just thought, “Ah, this is the place,” and decided. I guess my heart was just drawn to it.. I liked the reviews too, and I think I completely liked the consultant, the doctor, and the interior.
Day of surgery I’m originally the type who isn’t scared and thinks, “It’ll work out somehow~,” so even on the day of surgery I wasn’t nervous or worried at all. I just kept thinking I wanted it to be over quickly.. + I really wanted to drink water. I went into the operating room, and when they said the anesthetic was going in, my last thought was, “What if I’m the type who doesn’t go under anesthesia?” Then when I woke up, I was in the recovery room. I feel like I woke up almost as soon as the surgery ended,, The doctor came by, checked on me, and said the surgery went well, but because I wasn’t fully awake from anesthesia, he looked like a god to me then.. One of the reasons I chose this clinic was Dr. Park Jong-rim’s gentle and kind personality, and I think it was a good choice. He even came to check my condition on the morning I was discharged! Since he came twice, it really felt like he was taking care of me, so I liked that. Looking at reviews, it seems like most people get a drain after square jaw surgery, but maybe I didn’t bleed much because I didn’t even have a drain. I kept sleeping lightly and waking up repeatedly, and at dawn I couldn’t sleep, so I spent the day with my eyes wide open. Oh, I had almost no pain. My throat hurt so, so much, but it was about the level of COVID, so it was bearable. The phlegm actually bothered me more
After discharge until days 3-4, there was no sign the swelling would go down, and I wondered, “Will this really go down..?” I did this to become prettier, but I felt sad looking at how ugly I looked. More than anything, I hated doing mouthwash and not being able to chew was so painful. I usually fast often because of dieting, so I thought I’d be okay with not eating, but it was so hard. For the first 3 days, I couldn’t eat anything, but after that I forced myself to eat porridge, yogurt, cake, and things like that haha.
Day 5 When I visited the hospital, I received the compression band, had the incision areas cleaned(?), and received skin care and swelling care. That day, I wore a mask and went around here and there, and with the mask on, it really wasn’t noticeable at all. Even though it was day 5 and the swelling was still very full, I could feel that my chin length and width had decreased, so I think I just wanted the swelling to go down quickly.
Day 7! The swelling definitely went down a lot. It felt like me but 5 kg heavier? The day before, I also went out for an appointment and ate various mashed foods, but nobody noticed. Or were they pretending not to know,,
Day 12 It was my first time wearing makeup and going around without a mask, and people I know didn’t recognize me! I had also lost 4 kg, and when I said I had my wisdom teeth removed, everyone said it seemed like my face had gotten smaller and my jawline had appeared because I lost weight!
Week 2 Finally, the day to remove the stitches. Removing the stitches didn’t hurt at all, and I didn’t even feel it. I met the doctor and looked at the CT and the bone that had been removed, and more had been shaved down than I thought. I can’t believe my previous facial bones were this big.. The doctor also said that on CT, the line came out smoothly and well, so I felt so good!! And I thought most of the swelling had gone down, but after seeing the CT photos, I realized there is still a long way to go, so I’m so excited..
Honestly, even before surgery I sometimes heard that my face shape was pretty, and I lived fairly satisfied with it, so I thought about surgery for a long time. But no. My face shape wasn’t pretty. I was just big-headed.. The time I spent worrying feels wasted. The difference is bigger than I expected, and my face got noticeably smaller.. My face shape was okay, but my face wasn’t small. I wore makeup and a hat, and it was the first time in my life I thought I looked pretty wearing a hat..........
The swelling is still very full and is going down unevenly, but I’m already this satisfied, so I’m excited and looking forward to how much more satisfied I’ll be in 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year,, I was a little worried that the chin tip might not be too pointy and might look natural, but I think it came out with exactly the refined-but-natural look? I wanted. If it had been just a little more dramatic from here, I think it would have looked unnatural and not suited me I’m so, so glad I decided on this clinic,, Thank you, Dr. Park Jong-rim♡
