7 years ago, I got buried-suture double-eyelid surgery + epicanthoplasty at a hospital an acquaintance had gone to. The reason I chose buried sutures instead of an incision was that I had complete monolids with not even an inner double eyelid, so I was worried that if I suddenly did an incisional procedure, my eyes might look like caterpillars!
In my case, after about 3 years, when my eyes were swollen in the morning, the line would get a bit faint and I could see it trying to come undone.
In the end, 2 years ago I got anxious and had it redone with an incisional method at another hospital. There are inevitably some scars, but no one stares hard at my closed eyes, and if I don’t say anything, nobody knows I had surgery!!
Hmm, maybe it turned out natural because I did buried sutures first and then an incision, but these days double-eyelid surgery is usually at least average, so don’t pay twice like I did. For monolid people with a lot of flesh on the upper eyelids, I recommend just doing it properly with an incisional method from the start!
