This was my first nose surgery. I had surgery the day before Chuseok, and today was day 8, the day to remove the splint and the stitches at the nasal tip. When they removed the splint, my nose was very swollen. The doctor came and looked at my nose, then said that because of blood pooling in my nose, they would likely need to open the nose again to remove it and irrigate it, so I lay back down on the operating table.. At first they tried injection treatment, but they said my whole nose was already swollen and they couldn't stick the needle in several times, so it would be better to cleanly open the noseㅠ In the end, they said they opened the inner opening on the right side and removed all the blood.
I have a mountain of work I need to do as soon as I go back to work… I really feel lost.. I can't believe I have to go to work with cotton in my nose and a splint attached to my face..
Surgery info - I did not do the nasal bridge. I had rhinoplasty only to raise the nasal tip slightly moreㅠ They shaved the part with a very slight hump and preserved only the nasal bridge below it. Materials used were autologous septal cartilage + autologous ear cartilage + donated costal cartilage
They said donated costal cartilage does not cause something like this..
They said blood pooling symptoms like this can occur simply when a blood vessel bursts, or in women, when the menstrual period is approaching and blood pools inside the body..
I'm really curious about the cause of blood pooling symptoms after nose surgeryㅠㅠ Please leave comments! I'm worried it might be a side effect caused by the donated costal cartilage..
