Hello
Time really flies.. I’m already back with my 6-month review.
In January, I had lower jaw surgery, not double jaw surgery, plus 2 types of contouring surgery (square jaw/chin) at Y Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery! Since I was young, my lower jaw and bite didn’t align, so I had lived with it as a complex. I felt like it would probably bother me for the rest of my life too, so I made a big decision to get surgery while I was even a day younger.
Now at 6 months post-op, I can chew hard ice without any problem, and I can open my mouth really wide. Until 3 months, the incisions inside my mouth pulled a lot and it was hard, but that part has also been gradually improving as time goes by. I think sensation has come back about 70-80%!! In the beginning, it was so hard and I even regretted it, thinking I should have just lived with the way I looked. But now that 6 months have passed, I really think I made the right decision getting surgery. Once my complex disappeared, my level of confidence when talking to others completely changed.. It’s fair to say the swelling is all gone now! My face has gotten smaller, and I think I hear that I’m pretty more often too haha I’m endlessly grateful to Director Lee Seok-jae for doing the surgery safely, not excessively, naturally, and beautifully... hahaha Even the things I initially thought were side effects all normalized, even if slowly, so if anyone who had surgery is going through a hard time emotionally, I’d like to say to give it a long view until at least 6 months haha Luckily, I barely developed a double chin either lol haha I want my orthodontic treatment to finish as soon as possible so I can smile even more confidently and brightly than now haha I’ll come back next time with a 1-year review!!
