After having rhinoplasty on January 29, it has now been exactly 3 weeks. I had the nasal bridge (Fitme silicone 2 mm), nasal tip (septal support strut, ear cartilage for the tip point), osteotomy, and nasal dorsum refinement done. Now that I write it out, there’s almost no part that wasn’t touched..
To start with the conclusion, the swelling/pain were almost nonexistent, which was surprising, and because the swelling is still going down, I can’t be 100% certain about the nasal height yet, but it has become very naturally defined, so I’m satisfied.
Before and after surgery, I was able to have several consultations and progress checks with the director, and communication with the consultant was also good, so I never felt frustrated or anxious.
First, the improvement I wanted most was to make my broad-looking nose more three-dimensional, but not too slim, and to make the nasal tip round and natural. (But I brought photos of actress Shin Se-kyung.. so I found a compromise while consulting with the director lol)
The reasons I decided to have surgery here were - the director was the only one who designed it while considering my face shape (round, with prominent cheekbones), and - the first consultation was long enough, and they told me we should first improve my shortcomings and then add positive elements from there, so I felt I could trust them
Because I had to dissolve filler, I got an injection 2 weeks before surgery, and while ordering the silicone, I was able to have one more consultation, which was good. At that time, they told me that if we raised it unconditionally, considering the height of my forehead and glabella, my impression would become too strong, so we decided on 2 mm silicone.
On the day of surgery, I was so nervous that while lying on the operating table my legs were trembling badly, but even in the operating room I got to see the director one more time and receive final confirmation about the design I wanted (absolutely no pinched nasal tip!!! nat.u.ral.ly), so I think I went under anesthesia feeling at ease (lolol)
The day after surgery, I visited for antibiotic injection + dressing, swelling laser care, etc., and the following week I visited again for splint removal, for a total of 2 visits. Even then, I was able to briefly see the director and have the swelling condition checked.
What surprised me most was that the swelling was really only a little under the eyes? and even though I had osteotomy, after removing the tape, there was only a very, very faint yellow bruise, just a little? on the nasal bridge. I remembered people in plastic surgery communities saying their bruising turned blue up to their eyes after osteotomy, so I had canceled all my February plans, but I made all the plans again.. because as soon as the splint was removed, except for the columellar incision area, I looked totally fine lolol My family and friends all said it was amazing. An acquaintance who is a doctor told me it was probably because the surgery was done cleanly, with little bleeding and almost no tissue damage, and as if that was really true, the pain was very minimal, which was surprising. (It feels like I’m only writing praise.. but I really paid for it myself.. Except for the cost, the pain cost-effectiveness? was good, that’s a factㅠㅠ)
Now I think once the residual swelling and incision wound recover, I’ll enter the stable period. I want to hurry up and go for my progress check next month
