For reference, I’m looking into revision rhinoplasty because my nose spread out after double jaw surgery
They say this usually happens naturally with age, but apparently my whole rib is calcified, so I can’t use my own rib cartilage So if I do it, I’d have to use donated rib cartilage....... It feels kind of unsettling too... But more than that at the hospitals I’m going to for consultations, before I mentioned the X-ray first, they said we should use rib cartilage (before mentioning calcification... Then if they had just opened me up and couldn’t harvest it because it was calcified, would they have taken cartilage from somewhere else.....) Then after I told them it was calcified, they said to use donated rib cartilage And one place even said to use cartilage from both ears (the doctor there apparently doesn’t like donated rib cartilage, so they don’t use it)
Would it be better to go to another radiology clinic and get it properly checked? This was taken at an orthopedic clinic...
Oh and what I’m debating now is (nasal tip material) 1. Ear cartilage + ear cartilage 2. Donated rib cartilage + ear cartilage 3. Donated rib cartilage + donated rib cartilage + ear cartilage
These are the three hospitals I’d also like some help choosing between the three hospitals
