Since my third year of middle school, I had noticed that my lower jaw was gradually protruding, but I lived without paying much attention to it. Then, when I was twenty, I happened to see my side profile in a photo a friend took, and it bothered me so much that I started looking into double-jaw surgery. I had consultations at several hospitals in Seoul and thought about it, and the last hospital I visited was Y Oral Surgery. The consultant was very kind, and the director also gave me a detailed and kind consultation, so I chose the hospital that day and had double-jaw surgery plus two types of facial contouring surgery: square jaw + chin surgery.
From about 2-3 months afterward, I could eat everything except very hard or chewy foods like almonds, cubed radish kimchi, and squid, but now I can eat those foods too, so I have been eating a lot. And now that 6 months have passed, it seems like all the swelling has gone down, so I go around outside without a mask. People around me often tell me my face has become much smaller and my jawline has become slimmer, so I am completely satisfied too. There is the effect of the surgery, but I also lost weight, so I think I changed even more. More than anything, I am so satisfied that my malocclusion improved. Before surgery, because of the malocclusion, it was hard to bite off noodles or small foods with my front teeth, but now I can bite off small foods and noodles with my front teeth. I’m so happy!! My orthodontic treatment is not finished yet, so it is not completely over, but my bite is almost aligned, and I have changed a lot externally too, so I am very satisfied. When I was worrying before surgery and right after surgery, it was so hard, but now I even think I should have done it earlier haha
