After deciding to get my first rhinoplasty, I started looking into it, and without much information, I narrowed it down mainly to places with decent reviews and went for consultations. The consultations were fairly satisfying, so I’m leaving this in case it helps everyone who, like me, is looking for consultation reviews. I’ll write casually in a clipped style!
1. ㅇㅇㄹ
This was the first place I made an appointment for and visited! It’s around halfway between Sinnonhyeon and Gangnam Station? so it was nice that I could get there comfortably no matter which station I got off at! The interior was clean and smelled nice, and since it was my first time going for a plastic surgery consultation, I was standing awkwardly by the door when I entered. The consultants kindly guided me, so I relaxed a little haha... First they gave me a chart, so I filled that out and waited, and there were also many foreign patients coming and going. It felt kind of global? so it was interesting. (It was obvious I was going to a plastic surgery clinic for the first time haha..) Then they took photos and a CT scan, guided me to the consultation room, and after a brief consultation with the consultant, the director came in after a little while. Maybe he had just finished surgery in the previous time slot, but he came in quickly, saying he was sorry for making me wait so long. Since it was my first time, maybe everything felt fascinating and fun to me, so I think the consultation was fun too. He showed me the CT images and explained various things, then asked what kind of method I wanted. I hadn’t decided what kind of surgery or what material I wanted, so I only said vaguely that I wanted to raise my round nose without making it too obvious. He told me the pros and cons of each material and said I didn’t necessarily need to raise the nasal bridge excessively. On my face, the distance between the eyes is on the wider side, but even raising it moderately could make the glabella area look narrower, so he explained in that direction. After checking a few before-and-after photos from rhinoplasty, the consultation with the director ended! I think the consultation with the director was about 40 minutes! Then the consultant came back in and gave additional explanations, showing me the parts I had missed during the consultation with the director and the silicone implants! There was quite a difference in cost between using an implant and using autologous cartilage, and I still hadn’t organized my thoughts, so I said I’d think about it a bit, and the whole consultation ended haha! Also, they said the director only does 2 surgeries a day, so if I let them know in advance when booking later, they would coordinate it! There was no pressure to book that day, and they told me to take my time organizing my thoughts and contact them!
2. ㅋㅂㅈ
This was a place I visited on another day for my second consultation schedule! Since I’d already had one consultation, I think I was less nervous and went more comfortably haha. Again, the consultants here were all kind, and after going in, I filled out the chart and took photos just like before. I had a brief consultation with the consultant, and they said I could take a CT scan or skip it! Since there was an additional charge, they asked to confirm, and because I had seen the scan I took last time at ㅇㅇㄹ, I didn’t bother taking one! I remember that if I had taken it, together with the first-visit consultation fee, it would have been a little over 30,000 won!! After the consultation with the consultant, I consulted with the director, and his impression was so good and he was so gentle that I almost booked right awayㅠ! I had seen several reviews before visiting, so I roughly knew, but it was clear that he preferred a natural style! He made something like a preview with Photoshop for a line that suited my overall face! Looking at it, rather than a glamorous style, he made it feel natural? naturally refined? like that, and I was personally very satisfied at this point. Should I say it was the style I wanted?? It was like that haha. After hearing the director’s explanation to some extent, the consultation proceeded with me asking the things I was curious about and him answering each one! I think the consultation time was about 20 minutes? Then the consultant came in and I had a consultation! One of the things that drew me to ㅋㅂㅈ was that the aftercare/AS period was really long!! It was the longest, 3 years. They said that during the AS period, if there were any cosmetic areas I was dissatisfied with, revision surgery would also be possible by paying the anesthesia fee. This place doesn’t do other surgeries and specializes only in noses, so maybe that’s why it felt very professional, and they said the director also only does 3 surgeries a day! Likewise, there was no booking pressure xx I really had the consultation comfortably without any burden!
3. ㅈㅇㅈㅇ (Director ㄱㅇㄹ)
This place also had good reviews for natural lines, so I quickly made an appointment and visited! I didn’t choose a director separately before going! The consultant assigned one that day! Compared with the two places above, there was slightly more waiting. But I don’t think it took extremely long! The consultation process was similar to the other places, and the consultants were kind too. Actually, I had seen in another review that they were a little less kind, so I was a bit worried, but I thought, huh? They’re kind!! haha. I hadn’t looked into the directors’ styles beforehand, and the consultant assigned one, but I think he matched well with me!! He explained things like the nose line and angle together, and held my nose into a shape? that suited my face and showed me!! It was set a little higher than the nasal bridge lines the other hospitals had shown me, so I did wonder, is this okay? But he explained while talking about proportions and such, so I think it gave me trust!! When the director explained, I was like, oh yes yes~~!! and just went along with it haha... It felt like whatever the doctor said was right ㅠㅠ! He also showed me the materials used for surgery and told me their pros and cons. Maybe because it was the 3rd hospital I visited, I did have things I was curious about, so I asked various questions and didn’t time it, but I think it was around 20 minutes!! After the director’s consultation ended, I consulted with the consultant. The price was the most expensive out of all the prices I’d received so far, so I didn’t show it then, but as soon as I left the clinic I went ughhhhh haha..ㅠㅠㅠ Likewise, there was no pressure, and it was more like they told me to look around at other places too, so after hearing that, I came out without feeling burdened! But since the price was the most expensive...... I think I’ll need to think about it a bit ㅠㅠ
If I had to rank the places I’ve been to so far, I think it would be 1. ㅋㅂㅈ 2. ㅇㅇㄹ 3. ㅈㅇㅈㅇㅠㅠ Of course the other directors were professional too, but personally with ㅋㅂㅈ, I strongly felt that they really handle noses carefully?? Also, the AS period was the longest, so I think that part attracted me the most, and the price wasn’t bad by my standards either!
And what made me feel that you really need to go around to many consultations is that as I went to each clinic one by one, my information about my nose? gradually increased, and I felt like I was getting a clearer sense of what direction to take and what material and method would be good for the surgery! I plan to go to more consultations, and I thought everyone else should refer to this and go to as many as possible so there will be no regrets haha!!!
