I’m a man in my 20s, and I’m very interested in appearance, so I wanted to look more handsome + I also had serious functional nose issues, so I decided on rhinoplasty and went around for consultations.
5 places were in Gangnam and 1 was around Sinsa.
For people like me who are men / are interested in rhinoplasty and want to do it, but don’t know what’s what in plastic surgery and don’t know which places are famous, I’m writing this hoping it’ll be helpful.
For reference, my top priorities were improving bulbous nose and deviated septum.
1. ㄷㅇㅇ: I was recommended autologous costal cartilage, ear cartilage, and silicone. The manager was kind, but the wait time was very long. It felt like they mostly excluded the functional purpose and focused on aesthetics. And there was a bit of a factory-like feeling.
2. ㅇㅅㅇ: I was recommended silicone and ear cartilage, and I could see the director’s tendency not to make the surgery itself too extensive. They recommended going with a method using silicone. And there wasn’t really a separate consultation with the manager; the manager came in together and listened. But even though I arrived earlier than my scheduled consultation time, they ended it hurriedly, saying they had to go into the next surgery. And maybe because the hospital was small, it had the least factory-like feeling.
3. ㅂ: The director was the kindest, and among the places I visited, I liked this place the most. It seemed like they prioritize the functional aspect more, and I could see that they seemed to try to make it look good within a realistic range. It was also nice that they showed rhinoplasty videos. The downside is that there is a consultation fee. I was recommended osteotomy and ear cartilage.
4. ㄱㄹ: This was the place that felt the most factory-like. I got the feeling that more foreigners than locals use this place. There was also a bit of a wait time. The price was also on the most expensive side. I was recommended autologous costal cartilage, ear cartilage, and silicone.
5. ㅍㄹㅁㅇ: There is a 10,000 won consultation fee, and I could feel that the manager was somewhat trying to secure a customer. There was also more wait time than expected, and the director felt like they were consulting according to a set framework rather than looking at each individual personally. I was recommended silicone, ear cartilage, and autologous costal cartilage.
6. ㅈㅇㅇㅈ: The manager’s consultation was very kind/friendly. The director also examined me very kindly, and I was flustered because the manager was actually asking me various things about my consultation rounds The director also spoke in a way that made me trust them. The consultation here wasn’t bad either. I was recommended functional costal cartilage and ear cartilage.
