I had nose surgery around March 2023 and had been living satisfied with it, but a few days ago it became red and something like discharge came out, so I was worried something might be wrong and visited the hospital. The director who performed my surgery had moved to another hospital, so another director had to see me.
After I lay in the consultation room waiting for 30 minutes, I heard someone at the counter say, “It’s already been a year,” and Director B**, who was not the director who performed my surgery, came in.
He said things like, “Didn’t you touch your nose somehow? Why would a nose that was just left alone become like that? Did you pluck your nose hairs? Your nose has a lot of sebum.” So I answered that I had used a nose hair trimmer before, and that since my nose hurt now, I came to check whether something was wrong and whether it was okay. To that, the director answered, “There is something wrong. It’s probably folliculitis or inflammation.” And when I said I had stopped by after visiting a hospital because of surgery on another area, he said, “You can just take the antibiotics you got there.” Then he asked whether I even understood what he was saying. I was so dumbfounded that I said once more that I hadn’t come to file a complaint, and that because it hurt, I came to check whether anything was wrong. Then he told the nurse to give me antibiotics and send me off.
I had made an appointment and come to the hospital, but if they didn’t want to see a patient from over a year ago or a patient of another director, I think it would have been better to tell me from the start when making the appointment to go to an ENT clinic, or to tell me where my original operating director was. (After getting the antibiotics, I asked and found out my original director was at a plastic surgery clinic on another floor of the same building.)
