I had lens implant surgery in January 2022 My previous vision was left -8.75, right -8, so high myopia / left -2, right -2, so moderate astigmatism My current vision is about 0.9~1.0 in both the left and right eyes
I originally went in thinking about SMILE LASIK, but my corneas were thin and my eyesight was so bad that the only option I had was lens implant surgery It was much more expensive than SMILE LASIK, and no one around me had lens implant surgery, so I was worried, but I’m satisfied with the result!
Compared with the myopia, the astigmatism wasn’t severe, so I didn’t have it corrected separately. I was told that if my eyesight drops further later and becomes uncomfortable, I could additionally have LASIK? LASEK? (I can’t remember which one) Recently I felt like my eyes had gotten worse, so I asked the doctor during a regular checkup, and they said eyesight can worsen with age and recommended doing it later unless it interferes with daily life (This was something I personally wondered about and asked the doctor: I said, “I got lens implant surgery because I was told I couldn’t have LASIK, LASEK, or SMILE LASIK, so how can I have it now?” They said that because my vision had already been corrected once with the lens implant surgery, LASIK? LASEK? could be done as an additional surgery.)
As for side effects, I developed glare/halos Especially not long after surgery, whenever I saw light, day or night, the light spread tremendously in a circular shape and my eyes also stung (at night, there were times I could barely keep my eyes open while walking around) But my eyesight had been so bad that I can live with all of this. Now it’s not that the glare/halos are completely gone, but I’ve gotten very used to them, so there’s no problem in daily life. Still, when I drive at night, I feel a bit uneasy, so I always drive with extra tension Aside from glare/halos, I don’t think I have symptoms like stinging or dryness
But.. I don’t know who the director was who operated on me..쿠 I just had surgery right away because someone I knew said they had it done here, but every time I go for a regular checkup, the director who consults with me seems to change.. I don’t really know if other hospitals are normally like that too (It was my very first surgery)
