I went around to ㅇㅂㄹ, ㅊㄷㅊ, ㅊㅇ, ㄹㅂㄹ, and ㄴㅇㄷ! There was one more place, but I can’t remember it.. I ended up having the final surgery at ㅇㅂㄹ. I’ll write them in the order I visited.
1. ㅇㅂㄹ CT scan O / consultation fee X I was mainly looking for places famous for bulbous noses, and the reviews were so, so good that I visited thinking I might as well give it a try, and I could understand why the reviews were good. Even though it was my first visit, it left the strongest impression on me, and the director was so kind that it didn’t feel like a sales pitch at all. It’s also a hospital that uses iNFit, so I asked about various things, and they explained well based on what I asked. Because they took a CT scan, they checked the size of my septal cartilage and judged how much could be used. They told me that since I have a small nose, my septal cartilage is on the smaller side, so ear cartilage would need to be used. They also said frankly that because my skin is on the thin side and my nose is small, there is a limit to how much height can be added, so they couldn’t raise it a lot. Even that was said so gently and kindly, in a roundabout way, that I was touched.. They also said my nose shape was round, small, and cute. Anyway, I felt like they chose their words really beautifully. I got the feeling they would carefully take care of things like translucency, side effects, and aftercare, so even after visiting all the places, I think that’s why I chose this hospital haha. I’m really, really, rea~lly satisfied with the shape..! The consultation manager was just average, the kind of consultation staff you see anywhere, so there’s nothing much to say about that.. There was absolutely no pressure to book!
2. ㅊㅇ CT scan X / consultation fee 20,000 won At ㅊㅇ, I had a consultation with the head director, and the prices differed depending on the doctor! But I chose the head director because I liked that director’s line, and the consultation was so good that the price didn’t feel wasted, really. To exaggerate a little, they moved my nose around so much with cotton swabs and their hands that it almost felt numb, and they examined and assessed it really precisely and in detail. This was also the longest consultation! They consulted with me in great detail about the exact shape I wanted. Rather than being friendly, they felt very cool-headed, objective, and professional! It felt like they gave only the necessary points objectively and firmly. I also had a really good feeling about this place, and the estimate was the most expensive among the places I visited. The consultation manager also felt the most professional, and among the places I went, this consultation manager was the best! But it wasn’t pressure. Later, they did call to ask whether I was thinking of booking surgery yet and whether I was still looking around, but when I said I was going to see more places, they didn’t contact me again. I don’t think they make you feel burdened or pressure you to book. What I liked about ㅊㅇ was that the immediate post-op care seemed really well organized. It felt like it was worth the higher price, so I had it on my final shortlist too haha..
3. ㄴㅇㄷ CT scan O / consultation fee X Here, rather than seeming professional, the consultation manager felt like a very friendly older-sister type, and she was kind, so I think that’s why I remember her. She also eased my nerves with light conversation haha. The wait time wasn’t very long. I went because the review photos looked so pretty, but after the director greeted me, almost right away he started mixing in casual speech with polite speech..? He basically spoke almost casually, so I was like, what is this haha.. This was that place.. But he did seem very confident. He said my nose would turn out really well and that the surgery would be simple. While the previous ㅊㅇ and ㅇㅂㄹ recommended silicone around 3-4 mm, here they said about 4.5 mm would go in. Even though my nose is on the smaller side, they suggested alar fat removal and cartilage tying too, so it somehow didn’t match the direction I had in mind, and I think that’s why I didn’t choose it. But seriously.. I really liked the review results there.
4. ㅊㄷㅊ CT scan X / consultation fee 5,000 won (I heard functional nose consultations are 20,000 won) The director at this hospital really felt extremely safety-oriented. I think it would be good for everyone who feels very anxious about rhinoplasty. They recommended the lowest silicone height in millimeters, and I honestly thought that if I had surgery here, I wouldn’t have to tremble in fear over side effects. Before the consultation, they briefly showed a video on basic knowledge about rhinoplasty, then I think I met the director and consulted with the manager. The director really felt like a dad and was kind, and the manager was straightforward and kind too haha! This place was relatively inexpensive (though still almost similar), and they said they don’t have review discounts or anything like that, so I liked that part. Other hospitals all.. haha, you know, right?
5. ㄹㅂㄹ Regular imaging, consultation fee 10,000 won (I can’t quite remember whether they took a CT scan..) This place was really, reallllly hard to even book a consultation for. The consultation was scheduled for a month later, so I kept calling and asking if there were any openings or if I could move it up, and after calling often, I finally managed to move it up and book a consultation. This was the first hospital to suggest two methods. The first method was the same as the two hospitals at the top, and the second involved using rib cartilage. The director seemed to dislike donated rib cartilage, and really, really did not recommend it. Autologous costal cartilage definitely costs more because the rib area has to be opened. For me, translucency in the nose was really my biggest concern, along with tightness when smiling. But from an aesthetic standpoint, they recommended a high nose, saying 8-9 mm would suit me (I’m not sure whether they meant the silicone or the nasal tip), so I was shocked.. They said translucency could be solved by placing dermis from the ear area, and they seemed confident. Watching them do virtual surgery while editing with Photoshop, it seemed like they definitely had an aesthetic sense, and I could understand why they’re popular. The manager also said it in a way that implied many people who want a glamorous, obvious nose come here. Unlike what the director said, the manager actually recommended raising it only a little using septal cartilage haha. But surgery bookings here were pushed back by more than a month, and for me, safety and naturalness are higher priorities than glamor, so I think that’s why I chose another place.
