After <during correction> Before <before correction, gummy smile> I had a slightly protruding mouth and a very severe deep bite, so my jaw felt a little uncomfortable, and I was thinking of getting orthodontic treatment. When I went for a consultation, they said that because my gummy smile was severe, that could also be corrected with orthodontic treatment!!??? I had always covered my mouth with my hand when smiling because my gums showed, but I didn’t know how this could be fixed so I just lived with it. It was fascinating to hear that orthodontic treatment could fix it. I’ve been doing it for over a year now, and it’s honestly amazing that my gums don’t show much when I smile anymore. That part is really, really fascinating. People say my mouth shape has changed, but I think I’ll know for sure after more orthodontic treatment.. My lower teeth kept not showing, but at some point they gradually started to show. I’ll post that later, and for now, here’s a comparison photo of the gummy smile lol My gums were uneven, so I did have gum contouring once in the middle, but I think they said they would come down anyway during orthodontic treatment. So I’m planning to get the retouch after finishing orthodontic treatment!
