At that time, it was my first time looking into plastic surgery, and there weren’t many places to get information like there are now, so I was scared and got non-incisional surgery..
Honestly, in the early stage after surgery, I was happy because the swelling went down well? But the swelling went down so much that the eyelid skin swallowed the line. This wasn’t the eye look I wanted;; So, like in the before-revision photo, my eyes became the kind where the double eyelid line doesn’t show at all when I open my eyes and look straight ahead, and I lived with these eyes for decades.. lol I just spent the time thinking, ugh, I shouldn’t have done the surgery;; I only wasted money;;
Then I met my husband, had a child, and as I lived my life, I gradually gave up on taking care of myself and just lived comfortably, and that hit me hard. So after my child turned one or two, I also went shopping with friends and bought cosmetics, and started dressing up again like when I was single haha
But then my eyes started to look so unattractive to me.. lol No matter where I went, nobody knew I had double eyelid surgery (this is not a good thing because it means there was that little change in my eyes..). Maybe because I only had epicanthoplasty during my first surgery, the outer corners of my eyes looked relatively upturned and made me look fierce, which I really hated. So I started looking into revision surgery..
Wow, it was like that back then too, but now that I looked into plastic surgery again, there were so many clinics;; I had no idea where to go, and I heard that in times like this it’s best to go by acquaintance recommendations, so I asked around among friends and collected clinic information. I asked them to look for a place that, even though it was revision surgery, wouldn’t make it look too obvious that I had surgery, and a place that does natural canthoplasty!
So I had a consultation at this clinic, and the director said my skin itself is on the thicker side, and because we’d be raising the height from the existing line, he recommended that I safely have surgery with an incisional method. Honestly, even when I had non-incisional double eyelid surgery, my swelling went down quickly, so I said okay. For the lateral lower canthoplasty, we decided to do it just enough to lower the outer corners without being excessive, and I asked him to make the line visible overall from the inner corner of the eyes.
On the day of surgery.. lol honestly, because of the swelling and bruising, I was shocked enough to nearly flip out..;; Since my first surgery was non-incisional and so much time had passed, I couldn’t remember how much bruising I had, you know? But maybe because this was incisional.. there really was enough to surprise me a bit. (My baby saw me and cried.. lol)
But strangely enough, once the stitches were removed, everything went down so smoothly..... Were the stitches tightly holding all this bruising and swelling in place? That’s how it felt.. Even just looking at the 2-week photo, you can barely see the bruising. Since I set the line higher than my original double eyelid, I went on walks at the park in front of the house with my baby every day and diligently did ice compresses to get the swelling down quickly.
Now it’s been one month.. I’m still getting rid of the minor swelling, but even with a bare face, my eyes look bigger than before;; So in the past I wouldn’t go outside without eyeliner, but these days I go out just fine.. lol But since I don’t know much about plastic surgery.. I’m curious whether my swelling is going down well and how the line is settling. How does it look to everyone here?
And now that it’s been over a month, is walking to reduce swelling less effective..? Everyone who had incisional double eyelid surgery, please let me know..
