First of all, it was my first time ever visiting, and I didn’t really look up much information before going, so I barely asked any questions.. If anything, the directors or consultants asked me if I had anything else to ask. I looked for places that do noses, and I have a hump nose with a somewhat high nasal bridge. I thought I only had a hump, but they said my columella is a bit retracted, so I also have a slight arrow-shaped nose. I didn’t want to use any implants at all, so I based all consultations on implant-free surgery. All 3 places took photos before the consultation.
1. ㅁㅌ Maybe because it’s a private clinic, there weren’t people waiting or anything. The staff were, of course, kind. When I talked about the direction I wanted, the director explained exactly that part. There wasn’t any additional advice like which parts would be better if done in what way. I was worried my nasal bridge would get lower if the hump was shaved down, so we consulted in the direction that even if it still protruded slightly after surgery, that would be okay; the nasal tip would be raised, and the area between the raised nasal tip and the hump could sink in deeply, so that part would be filled in somewhat with cartilage. It was fairly comfortable and good, but they only took in exactly what I said and didn’t feel like they were leading the consultation proactively, so that was a bit disappointing.. It wouldn’t matter for someone who has researched a lot before going, but I had only looked roughly at rhinoplasty for a day or two and went for now, so I barely knew what to ask.. They do 2 surgeries a day.
2. ㅇㅈ It felt a bit like going to a university hospital. Since there are several directors there, there were also many people. The director here recommended about 2 options: the style I wanted and the style he recommended. He actually recommended 3 things, but the other one involved putting silicone in the nasal bridge, so I didn’t consider it. He also recommended putting ground cartilage? in the glabella area. If anyone knows well about this, please comment or message me.. And he took photos with a tablet and showed me how it might look after surgery using something like a Photoshop app. Also, he gave off a nuance of confidence about rhinoplasty, so it felt trustworthy, and he was the most persuasive speaker among them. I heard surgeries are at a peak these days, so they do 3-4 cases. This was the only place that uses sleep sedation during surgery.
3. ㅁㅂ First of all, I was tired after going to the first two places, so I feel like I also did the consultation a bit roughly, and the director here is also the type to end it if there are no questions. I’m sure everyone is like that, though. But here, they measured the length of my eyes. Since my eyes are quite large, they said the larger the eyes, the much more flexible the height to which the nose can be raised. So he gave off the nuance that even a glamorous style would be fine, but since I wanted to not shave the hump, only raise the nasal tip, and fill the area between the hump and tip, he said he would do it in the direction I wanted. But he didn’t clearly present a solution for the sunken area between the nasal tip and the hump, so that was a bit disappointing. Just that it could be uneven, so I should take that into account.
Today was these 3 places. Before surgery, I had thought I should fill up 10 consultations, but I don’t think I can do that at all, and I’m planning to consult at 3 or 4 more places around Nonhyeon. But I’m so tired from getting consultations that I’m wondering if I should just not do it. It’s honestly way more exhausting than I thought.. Nothing can be done easily.. But considering the surgical risks and price, I can’t do that.. ha
