Back in 2014, that was when I had LASEK.
My vision was 0.1, so I went to an ophthalmology clinic in Gangnam that was affiliated with my university!
I heard that for men, LASEK is safer than LASIK, so I ended up having LASEK at that clinic. For the first 1–2 weeks, it felt like someone was continuously scraping my eyes with a knife, and I thought I was going crazy..
Time passed like that, and until 5 years after the surgery, my vision stayed at 1.3. Since time has passed, now my vision comes out between 0.8 and 1.0!
Still, I recommend doing it. Fortunately, I don’t have much eye stinging or glare/halos. Of course, I do have a little of the dryness that everyone experiences, but maybe because I followed all the rules exactly as the hospital told me after surgery, I seem to have had fewer side effects. I had completely quit drinking and smoking too..
LASIK and LASEK, the surgeries that everyone who has done them recommends, while people who haven’t ask why you would do them. As someone who did it, I think I’m glad I did!
