I went along when my mom was getting LASIK, ended up getting tested unexpectedly, and ended up getting LASEK. My mom had minus vision, and even now she lives well without glasses.
What I remember is that when they attached and removed the tape during surgery, that was the most painful part. I remember my vision at the time was around 0.4 in both eyes, I think. Right after vision correction and for several years afterward, it came out as 1.2 / 1.5. Now it’s been 12 years, and when I get health checkups, both eyes come out around 1.0.
I hadn’t known my eyesight was bad, but after LASEK, it felt like subway signs looked 3D, I guess. At first there was some dryness, but now I’m not really sure. I’m living normally and well. My eyes do get dazzled when I see sunlight haha
