I want to post this under complication cases, but I’m not level 3 yet, so I’m posting it here. Hoping no one ends up like me..
I’d been really stressed about my hump nose for a long time, so I looked into various options. I heard ENT clinics are pretty good these days too, so I had septal deviation correction + rhinitis treatment + dorsal hump reduction + septal cartilage for the nasal tip. It’s exactly around day 20 now, about 3 weeks.
They said swelling can be severe when you shave down a hump, so it could be because of swelling, but when I looked it up, everyone seemed to still have the hump left?
When I asked the consultant, she said minor swelling can remain for up to 6 months, and if it’s still bad after 6 months, we can talk about revision surgery. But I was never told from the beginning that it could be left behind? If I had known, I would have considered an implant. The pain and swelling were so bad that I don’t even want revision surgery ^^.. If they had told me from the start, I wouldn’t be in this situation. I’m so angry and upset, and I hate looking in the mirror, so I’m just stuck in my room. I’m living with the thought that I’ll probably just have to give up and get revision surgery, but being told I have to live like this for 6 months to 1 year is so upsetting I could die. I hope everyone chooses carefully before getting nose surgery.
