I had LASEK surgery in 2020! My eyesight was originally really bad... Even when I wore glasses, the lenses were compressed, but they were still really heavy and thick... I remember I was somewhere between high myopia and ultra-high myopia And because my eyes were really bad, the price was also extremely high when I got the estimate I added all the options, like Extra? and some cooling thing, so I think the price was almost around 4 million won, maybe about 3.8 million...? My corneas were on the thicker side, so they said surgery was possible, so I had the consultation, scheduled the date, and went in The recovery period was pretty long, but they said recovery is supposed to be gradual so that vision is less likely to drop later The last time I went to the clinic, my vision was 1.5, and now when I get a vision check during things like a health screening, it comes out around 1.2 (I also have astigmatism, so I think it only goes up to 1.2) Because of the nature of my job, I look at a monitor for a really long time and spend my days sitting and working until my eyes feel strained, so I was worried my vision would drop a lot, but thankfully it hasn't dropped as much as I expected...
But I do have glare/halos + dry eye syndrome So you really need to take good care of your eyes after surgery! Actually, when my eyesight was bad, the glare/halos were worse, so for me they actually decreased I used to be really stressed about this, but after LASEK, I don't think about it and feel comfortable... Dry eye syndrome lasts quite a while, so you can keep using artificial tears and applying ointment near the tear gland area (the ophthalmology clinic where I had surgery prescribed it for me)
I had it done at a famous clinic, but the price was really high... Everyone, look into lots of places before going~~ I feel a bit disappointed because I think I paid too much; I should have shopped around more An acquaintance who really shopped around had LASEK surgery in the low? mid-3 million won range! I heard their recovery was fast and the surgery went really well (they said it wasn't at EOS, but another clinic)
Eyes are really important, so everyone, research a lot and get surgery somewhere you are sure is safe!!
