It’s been a little over 3 months since I had everything removed after having hump-nose surgery without an implant. It was so hard during that time that I couldn’t even leave another review, but I’m writing because I feel like it’s slowly getting better compared with when it was at its worst.
I think my contraction phase was really, really severe. Originally, my nose was long and droopy, so I wasn’t too worried, but my nose became almost as short and upturned as a contracted nose, looked like it had been cut in half, and even the skin at the nasal tip became depressed. It shrank like a nose when you’re holding your breath and looked so small, like the nose should originally be projecting forward, but instead it felt like dough had just been stuck on there with no three-dimensionality at all?... I think that was severe from around 2 weeks after removal until about 2 and a half months, and now it hasn’t all released, but it does seem to be loosening compared with the worst period. The depressed area still looks slightly dark, and sometimes when I touch it, it still feels a little sunken, but compared with when the contraction phase was severe, it has improved a lot. The nasal tip being upturned and shortened hasn’t fully resolved yet either, and I still sometimes feel tightness. The columella area seems to have come down a bit, but the columella and nasal tip still look awkward.. It needs to come down more to look natural, but since it’s better than when it was severe, I’m thinking it may loosen more with time ㅠㅠ Fortunately, the columellar scar seems to be recovering faster than it did with my operated nose.
The part that upset me the most was the nasal bridge where the hump had been shaved. Even though I didn’t have an implant, the bridge lost so much contour that I was really upset, but after 3 months, it does seem to have more contour than in the beginning. I have thought about filler, but filler has its own side effects, so although I want to get it, I’m hesitantㅠㅠ
I’m still having a really hard time because of my nose ㅠㅠ The bridge has become broad and flat, and the nasal tip is blunt and lifted.... I think my contraction phase is especially severe. I haven’t seen cases where the nasal tip skin becomes depressed like mine (without inflammation or contracture). I’m trying to think that because the contraction phase was severe, recovery will take a long time too, but I can’t help feeling anxious.. When the nasal tip became depressed, I asked the removal hospital, and they said it was because the skin had become thin and that they didn’t know whether it would come back or not, so I think that made me even more anxious. But fortunately, it seems the depression became especially worse because of the contraction phase.. Since the depression is still improving, it won’t get worse from here, right?..ㅠ
My nose still isn’t completely soft or anything. I think I’m still in the recovery period. When I think about the past, I still get choked up, upset, regretful, and feel like I’m going crazy, but I still think it’s better than my operated nose. I wanted to write a review quickly, but during the contraction phase, my nose condition became much worse than I expected, so I just couldn’t write one.. I was thinking I’d write later when the condition got a bit better, and I’m relieved that I can see it improving a little.
When I was anxious because of the contraction phase, I came to this community and many people comforted me by saying time is the best medicine, and that gave me a lot of strength. I’m desperately hoping it gets even better at 6 months ㅠㅠ For those with a severe contraction phase, it still seems to get a little better after 3 months than when it was at its worst. It’ll get better with time, right? Let’s hang in there together ㅠㅠ I’m still having such a hard time myself that I don’t feel able to comfort anyone ㅠㅠ I’m just writing this hoping my review helps even a little.
