5-Month Review After Complete Nose Implant Removal

Before <before surgery> After <after surgery><day 5><month 5> Around one month after surgery, I was extremely worried because of the swelling, but these days I feel like even the residual swelling has all gone down, and it seems to be getting better and better. Before surgery, I read other people’s posts one by one, narrowed down a hospital list, and after surgery I also referred a lot to what might be good to do, so I’m writing this in hopes it can help others too.

First, in May 2021, I had surgery in the Gangnam area with silicone 3.5 mm + septal cartilage strut + septal extension. At first, before the septal cartilage started drooping, the height was high but the shape was straight. But as time went on, the nasal tip looked like it was drooping, which stressed me out so much. It was high, but not exactly a pretty nose...? So I wanted to quit everything, including work, and I think I lived only thinking that once 6 months passed, I needed to hurry and get surgery.

Then I had surgery this March, and now it has been about 5 months since the surgery. Until around 3 months, I think I continuously had that itchy and uncomfortable feeling you get after nose surgery. My nose was also hard. Of course, even now it isn’t soft enough to make a pig nose, but it does lift very slightly, so I think it is still in the healing process. Before surgery, I was so, so worried that my nose might change into something bizarre, but in my case, from right after the removal surgery until now, my nose has not lifted or the columella has not rolled inward.

Hmm.. There is a side effect after the removal surgery, but I don’t know whether it was because of the hospital where I had the first surgery or the hospital where I had the removal. One side of my nasal cartilage was damaged, so depending on the photo or the angle of light, one side can look slightly drooped ㅠ Still, my friends say they can’t really tell even when they look closely, so I’m trying to live while worrying a little less about it!

After writing it all and reading it, I realized I just wrote whatever came to mind, so it’s not really a useful post.. ㅠㅠ If you have any questions, I’ll answer in the comments as far as I know. I hope everyone thinks carefully when having surgery, chooses cautiously, and gets good results.
