Eye Surgery Reviews@eye-review

I regret getting double eyelid surgery.

I was born with double eyelids, and they had formed multiple overlapping folds, so I visited to have them cleaned up. I went there because a friend who had experience with revision surgery recommended it. There was only one director, and at the time, large hospitals were perceived like plastic-surgery factories, with fear around shadow doctors. So I looked for a small private clinic with diverse surgical experience and a specialist in revision surgery. Despite the high cost, my friend’s result was satisfactory, so I decided to proceed. As I said earlier, I liked the shape of my eyes and only wanted the line cleaned up, so I was going to have them lightly pinched. But because I was told I had epicanthal folds, anterior canthoplasty was recommended. I was told my current double eyelids could not really be called double eyelids and should just be seen as wrinkles. Through an incisional method, all the extra skin was cut away, leaving me with double eyelids thinner than before, closer to inner double eyelids, and making revision surgery impossible.

Afterward, every time I look in the mirror, I feel emotionally distressed. Acquaintances who knew what my eyes used to look like ask negative questions, and because I found it hard to accept the result myself, I met with the hospital’s claims adjuster and several lawyers while preparing a lawsuit. But in the end, I felt there was no hope. Because there was no trauma-related disorder or obvious visible damage from the surgery, it was difficult to prove clear negligence and a causal relationship, and ultimately there was no problem with the pure function of my eyes.

The truth is that many plastic surgery clinics focus more on dazzling surgery reviews with success rates that are not necessarily high, luring in new targets, and rushing to put celebrities forward in advertisements, rather than providing conscientious manuals about side effects and possible aftereffects. They are covering up countless cases of plastic surgery side effects and outcomes worse than before surgery. Once surgery is done, it can never be reversed or returned to the way it was, so I consider this the biggest life lesson of my life. To prevent other victims from arising, I want to tell those who are hesitating about plastic surgery that you must make your decision carefully..

If the area you are considering surgery on could turn out worse than its current state, even if you think, “it would still be better than now...” you must always consider the worst-case scenario with plastic surgery.
