I spent several years thinking it over carefully and doing my own online research and in-person consultations.
It was not an insane complex, but I kept feeling that it did not suit my image at all, so I eventually got it done.
I was debating between an old private clinic and a clinic that felt like a rising star, and I decided on the latter because they said they could accommodate my requests better.
There are no side effects, but in the end, not a single one of my requests was fulfilled. Never mind making it better, they even ignored my request not to shave down the entire dorsal hump and shaved it all off. (There is only one reason. To create the kind of side profile ordinary people tend to prefer...) The problem is that it was the part I said I did not want changed, and because the highest point from the front disappeared, the nasal bridge looks thickly split into two ridges.
This is true anywhere, but people leave reviews, right? Of course I know people say not to choose based on reviews, but I did not know reviews were to this extent. Editing is obviously basic, everyone. Do not even trust what people upload. Even before surgery, if I edited photos, I could look about that good too. Imagine what edited photos after surgery are like.
You have to send reviews and all kinds of photos everywhere, and they picked the photo that came out just right (the line I did not want because the hump was shaved, but one plastic surgery clinics prefer).
You have probably heard people say not to go to a factory clinic, right? I thought if they only did two cases a day, it was not a factory. They listened to my opinions so well... But right before surgery, they were busy with consultations because they could not manage the schedule properly... I guess a long-established private clinic personally cultivated by the director is best after all. They manage reviews like a company. I wanted to say that if a clinic suddenly becomes hot like a rising star, there is a high chance it did not become hot simply because it does things well according to trends. It is just that people flow in well through huge numbers of reviews and search results. That is how I found the place too, haha.
If I could go back, rather than saying I would not do it, I think I would strongly emphasize something like, “If you shave down the entire hump, I will not let it slide.”
It was not a severe hump, so I asked them to leave a little, but this amount is basically crushed flat. The consultant said that if they left even a tiny bit, it would look like a step or whatever, but conversely, I had never heard what happens to the nasal bridge from the front if everything is shaved down. When I searched, I found some reviews saying that because the part that used to catch the light disappears, it looks more blunt. Sigh, haha.
I will not reply with which hospital it is!! That is something I promised, so I should not break it either.
I just wanted to say, although it is so obvious, that choosing because you like review photos of noses that look similar to yours, or thinking, “Oh!? These hospitals must fit the current trend these days,” or because the consultation felt very attentive and polished, is not the way to choose...
The consultants? They are just employees too. They do not seem to have much aesthetic sense. Doctors? It depends on the person, but since the chance of getting exactly the result they explain is low anyway, do not feel intimidated thinking, “That person probably still has better judgment than me...” Emphasize what you want more strongly. No matter where you go for consultations, unless they tell you to get lost because your request is absurd, it is better to end up with a shape you chose yourself and regret.
