It has been about 5 years. I did not know orthodontic treatment had to be approached carefully, so I went to a hospital near my home. But when I had orthodontic treatment, I also had extractions and finished relatively quickly. There was something that felt a bit uneasy, though. With orthodontic treatment, you go to the hospital often, even just because of the wires, but nurses? seemed to check on me more often than the doctor did.
Maybe each hospital has a different style, but the nurses also changed often, and I understand that the methods can differ. (I once heard nurses at the hospital I went to say, “Is this right?”)
And after orthodontic treatment, my outward image did change. But the inconvenient part is that you have to wear a retainer for life!! I heard there are people whose teeth move back because they do not wear their retainers, so take that seriously. It is basically something that goes around with you every day like part of your body.
And aside from the retainer, they also attach a wire to the inside of your teeth. That is also for life.
I did orthodontic treatment without knowing this, but it is better to know before doing it, so I wrote it down for now.
As for side effects of orthodontic treatment, there are nasolabial folds, but for me, it was not that I developed nasolabial folds because of the treatment; as I got older, nasolabial folds appeared..
I hope you look into orthodontic treatment carefully too, and if you are going to do it, get it done prettily in a way that suits your own teeth.
