[Before] I decided to have surgery because I wanted to reduce my side cheekbones, slight chin retrusion, and midface. At first, I didn’t know I would end up having double-jaw surgery, but people around me strongly recommended this hospital, saying double-jaw surgery would be good for my complexes!
I remember when I first went in for the consultation with a nervous heart.ㅜㅜ I asked so many annoying little questions, but the consultation manager answered every single one so kindly that I calmed down.. And after meeting the director in person and getting a detailed consultation about the surgery, my trust shot up..!! The next day, I put down a deposit and fixed the surgery date for a month later.
[Day 1] Because of general anesthesia, I fasted for about 10 hours from the day before (not even water), and came in by 7 a.m. After that, we went through the design and final consultation, and I went straight into surgery!
I closed my eyes and when I woke up, the surgery was over. As soon as I opened my eyes, I was out of it and could only think, what time is it..!.. I had to get the general anesthesia gas out, so I just worked hard on deep breathing, but since I had no strength in my whole body, I remember it was hard even to lie still and breathe..-_- Still, when I looked in the mirror next to me, although I was very swollen, as you can see in the photo, I could see that the central area around the nose had gotten smaller, so I was happy.. ㅠㅠ endlessly moved
[Day 3] Honestly, I don’t remember much from days 2 to 3. I kept getting painkillers and nutritional IVs, sleeping, waking up, feeling dazed, over and over, so I don’t remember well..-_- It just felt like an eternity. Still, what I do clearly remember is that the nurses in the operating room were extremely kind and gentle + the director checked on me from time to time, so I felt reassured + they gave me a strawberry smoothie because I needed sugar, and it was really delicious..ㅠㅠ Those things are definitely in my memory.^^
[Day 7] For the first week, even after coming home, I definitely focused on swelling care and rest, and supplemented nutrition with liquid meals three times a day, like pumpkin juice, New Care, Selex, Pocari, and so on. Even porridge was hard to eat, so you really need to make sure you take in liquid food with the syringe the hospital gives you. Otherwise your immunity can drop and you may have a hard time..ㅠㅠ The facial swelling was worst on days 2 to 4, and after that it seemed to go down gradually.
[Day 14] After the eternal first week passed and I finally reached week 2, I had regained some strength, so I went for walks. Once I started walking, the facial swelling definitely went down a lot. Once your strength comes back a bit, please go for walks as often as possible. As expected, nothing beats walking for reducing swelling..! I also visited the hospital from time to time, where they checked my progress, disinfected the inside of my mouth, gave me a nutritional IV, and I received swelling laser treatment!
[One month] The long-awaited one-month mark! Until week 3, I slept sitting up to reduce swelling as much as possible, but maybe it started straining my lower back, so after I began sleeping lying down, I’m a bit swollen in the mornings..! (The one-month progress photos were taken in the morning) The swelling in the philtrum, jaw area, and chin tip is still severe, but I’m practicing smiling a lot according to the hospital’s instructions~ Looking at it like this, the lip swelling has also gone down a lot. As for satisfaction with the surgery, I’m definitely happy because I can see that the midface area has gotten smaller. ㅠㅠ Even though I still have swelling at one month, it looks about similar(?) to my before face size! I believe it will get several times smaller once all the swelling goes down.^^ As expected, the director is the best for double-jaw and facial contouring..ㅠㅠ
I’ll come back with my two-month review~
