A little over a year after double-jaw surgery!! I also looked things up here and there before getting double-jaw surgery, so I’m writing this in case it helps even a little First of all, when it comes to side effects everyone worries about, things like nasal widening or numbness, those were the two I was also very worried about, but in my case there was absolutely no nasal widening!! If anything, maybe because my mouth was set back, my nose looks more refined? People around me also said my nose seemed a bit higher, haha And there was numbness, too. For me, the tip of my chin felt strange even when touched, and there was a tingling sensation. But this was something I had been told about before surgery, and I was told it would gradually return after about a year, so I think I got through it without too much worry. There also weren’t any major inconveniences, either. So maybe because of that, now that it’s a little over a year later, almost all of it has come back But there’s still a slight tingling sensation left, so it is a bit bothersome, but I think that will get better little by little too Other than that, maybe just the lower-teeth gap? I had somewhat expected that this would happen if I got orthodontic treatment, but once it actually happened, it did look a bit odd every time I looked in the mirror Still, it’s a part you can’t see at all in daily life, so I’m trying not to worry about it Oh, and it’s not a side effect, but one change was cheek fat!! I guess because my underbite became smaller, on me, who used to have no facial fat, cheek fat started to show up At first I thought it was swelling, but it still hadn’t gone down even after a year.. So now I’ve accepted it… Anyway, that’s about the extent of the side effects I feel In the end it turned out well and I’m very satisfied, but the degree of side effects differs from person to person, and it’s such a big and difficult surgery, so I hope everyone thinks carefully before going ahead!!
