4 years into orthodontic treatment after extracting my snaggletooth

- My malocclusion was severe and there was discoloration too, so it was a complete hopeless mess. It was a case where the snaggletooth had shifted backward, so I had two layers of teeth.

- It was not the common protruding-mouth type, so it was not noticeable if I did not open my mouth, but tartar kept getting stuck between the snaggletooth and the normal tooth, so I knew I would have to do it someday.

- But fortunately, maybe because of my constitution, it was not particularly hard. I had four teeth extracted, and the only annoying parts were the bleeding then and feeling pressure for about that one day when the orthodontic appliance was tightened.

- The extraction sites bled at first and gradually healed, and now, years later, I cannot even feel any trace that teeth were originally there.

- Once the difficult early period is over, what you need to be careful about is occasionally chewing something hard unconsciously, breaking the wire, and having to go back to the clinic.

- And as always, but especially during orthodontic treatment, if you get cavities it becomes very troublesome, so you need to take good care of your teeth. I was just lazy and did nothing special except brushing. But take good care of yours.

- Now the malocclusion has been resolved, and I am living with a lingual retainer attached. It has been 4 years since I started; I removed the appliance around year 3 and got the retainer attached. People I have met since then do not know unless I tell them I had orthodontic treatment.

- And after removing the appliance, whitening is possible, so I am whitening my teeth now. Whitening is not hard except for sensitivity right afterward, but it is hard to have pretty teeth ㅜㅜ
