Ever since I was young, I wanted orthodontic treatment because of my irregular teeth alignment, but circumstances didn’t allow it, so I ended up getting orthodontic treatment in my 40s. When I searched for information online, I read that non-extraction was better for gum health than extraction, so I started orthodontic treatment without extractions in 2017. Before I knew it, it had been 5 years since I had orthodontic treatment.
The orthodontic treatment took about 2 years, and during treatment, I don’t know if it was because I didn’t brush my teeth well, or because my gums became weak, but black triangles formed in 3 places.ㅠㅠ
It seems like orthodontic treatment in your 40s is not recommended..ㅠㅠ First, the gums become weaker. Second, because of weakened gums, black triangles are more likely to form.
I think orthodontic treatment is best done in the teens to early 20s..ㅠㅠ
I really hope people getting orthodontic treatment in their 30s to 40s will keep this in mind!!
