During the consultation, I was told that because I have sunken eyes and the bone next to my eyes is close to the eyeball, I probably wouldn’t see a major effect. But I really wanted to get away from having narrow, clam-like eyes, so I went ahead with the surgery anyway, and I’m currently on day 5 after surgery. The surgery was done by briefly putting me to sleep, then applying local anesthesia, and then performing the surgery while I was awake again. I could have had the surgery while asleep, but I wanted to see the doctor in charge perform the surgery directly, so I had it while awake. After surgery, I bruised more than I expected, and even though it’s day 5, I still have yellow and purple bruising about like in the photo.
It’s still only day 5, but looking at the progress, the effect definitely isn’t huge.. I chose this hospital because I saw cosmetic surgery apps like ㄱㄴㅇㄴ and ㅂㅂㅌ, and the reviews were so good, but the result isn’t as dramatic as the reviews, so I do feel a bit empty ㅠㅠ Still, they told me in advance during the consultation, so I don’t particularly regret it. Because although the effect is weaker, my eyes are definitely bigger than before, and I don’t have side effects like dry eyes, stinging, or eyelashes poking my eyes. It was only a little uncomfortable on days 1-2 when I had slight conjunctival edema. Now I think I’ll have to watch what shape the outer corners heal into.
One thing I want to say is that for people who want to correct upturned eyes by opening the lower side like puppy eyes (in an S-shape), I do not recommend the outer eye corner lowering surgery I had. I do recommend it for people who want to keep a straight line even if the ends turn upward like before surgery.
!! There’s something I’d like to ask: will the bloodshot area at the outer end of my eye turn back into white sclera? There’s something red and thin covering the white of the eye, and because of that less white is exposed, making it look stuffy ㅠㅠ I’m curious whether it will get covered as the back of the eye heals, or whether the redness will clear and reveal the white. I’d appreciate any answers.
