Eye Surgery Reviews

A late review of lateral and lower canthoplasty, over 6 months later

About my eyes back then There were many people around me who had overdone canthoplasty, and because I’m such a scaredy-cat, I asked them to make only a tiny incision. But there was absolutely no visible difference... The swelling was barely there, and it just fused back together (when I was consulting, there were even places saying they would do it as a first-time surgery lol). Anyway, I couldn’t live with those frustrating eyes, so I kept searching for reviews every day before deciding to have them reopened for real.

I was so terrified that I thought I’d never be able to lie down for surgery again, so I had eyelid correction together with lateral and lower canthoplasty. It might sound contradictory, but I hate looking like I’ve had surgery, so I’d rather have naturally occurring eyes even if the change is visible! During consultations, I repeatedly begged them not to overdo it!!! The doctor here also didn’t seem eager to open them much further(?), so our preferences matched well haha.

I had imagined every possible disaster, including the wounds failing and red tissue showing after lateral and lower canthoplasty, but apart from my eyes becoming extremely bloodshot and red while the stitches were still in at the beginning, no tissue ever showed.

It’s not like my eyes changed dramatically so that anyone could immediately tell I had canthoplasty. It’s more like the stuffy part of my original eyes was removed, so a friend might say, “Oh, you had something done~” haha. Honestly, of course I look different next to someone who has never had surgery. You know that, right..? And this time, they didn’t fuse back together!!!!!! It’s been well over 6 months now, and they’re holding up well without re-fusing or any signs of it.

But there are so many people saying their canthoplasty closed back up, so I think I still need to keep watching until one year! For now, everything’s fine!!! Actually, I’d forgotten about writing the review, so I’m only writing it now The coordinator told me about it. My previous hospital used to contact me when it was time to write a review.. They don’t really pressure you separately, so I guess that’s a good thing.

Before, even when I opened my eyes fully, they looked only half-open, and makeup couldn’t cover it; standing next to someone with big eyes made it feel pointless, so I was depressed. Now I can open my eyes comfortably and they look clearer, and overall they look more open, so thinking about it, I don’t think I’ve been depressed about my eyes at least recently!

They told me not to write too short, so it got long while I was typing. Just skip whatever you want and read what seems useful~
