In my previous surgery, the crease was set too high, leaving obvious pinching marks when I closed my eyes and creating the classic thick sausage-eye look. I also lacked lifting power when opening my eyes, making me look slightly sleepy, and my horizontal eye length felt cramped. So I had an incision-based lowering of the crease, ptosis correction, and medial, lateral, and lower canthoplasty all together.
I had it done at [Clinic A]. I remember waiting about five minutes, and I was not bothered because I was using my phone and doing other things. Some places made me wait over 30 minutes, so this felt fine ^^ haha. The consultation style was also not pressuring at all: the coordinator did not push procedures or urge me to transfer a deposit for a same-day booking. The surgeon’s consultation was fairly long, and they were direct about what could not be done. I did not have a lot of excess skin, so they honestly explained that lowering the crease sharply into an in-out fold would be difficult. I think that honesty was the biggest reason I chose the clinic.
When designing the crease, they repeatedly checked the height and kept redrawing it to identify exactly at what millimeter difference the sausage look appeared. I felt they were very detail-oriented. I thought, “I’ll just trust the surgeon.” For the first month after surgery, the incision-related redness and swelling made me worry that it had gone wrong again, but by the second month, the thick sausage appearance had decreased by more than 80% and the crease was much lower. The pinched scar marks also followed the existing incision line and became neat.
The medial canthoplasty relieved the tight-looking Mongolian fold, and the lateral and lower canthoplasty opened the outer corners, clearly making my eyes look longer horizontally. Opening my eyes also feels more comfortable, without the heaviness I had before. I wanted my eyes to look more open even without makeup or contact lenses, and I think they turned out exactly that way.
However, I think recovery of the scar tissue in the canthoplasty areas took me somewhat longer. This is not necessarily because I neglected care; recovery speed definitely varies by skin type, so that is something to keep in mind T_T Rather than creating glamorous, dramatic eyes, I think this clinic’s strength is resolving structural problems from a failed eye surgery and refining the crease to suit the patient’s face. So far there are no problems, and I just hope the crease settles firmly here T_T
While researching revision surgery, I visited around four or five clinics. Places with long waiting times, short surgeon consultations, coordinators who explained everything instead of the doctor, or places suggesting that I book the crease surgery on the consultation day all made me feel bad from the moment I arrived and seemed inconsiderate toward patients. I think you need to examine even these small details.
