Recently, I had natural-adhesion double-eyelid surgery, ptosis correction, micro medial canthoplasty, and lateral-lower canthoplasty together. I wanted only the parts that looked stuffy in my original eyes to be refined, making them clearer to a moderate degree. During the consultation, I described the look I wanted in quite detail, and the surgeon personally examined my eye shape and asymmetry and explained everything one by one. I liked that it did not feel like they were simply following a fixed design; it felt as though they designed it according to each patient’s wishes and requests. I especially liked that they were not the type to make the eyes unconditionally glamorous. Thick double eyelids and eyes that suddenly become much larger would have felt burdensome to me, and they kept checking those points during the consultation. They did not recommend making parts larger when there was no need, which made me trust them more. For the medial canthoplasty, they did not simply open it as much as possible; they looked at the shape of the inner corners and the epicanthal folds and explained the appropriate extent. They also said the lateral-lower canthoplasty was not about blindly extending only the outer corners. It felt like they decided after considering the overall eye shape and proportions together. I also asked during the consultation about releasing before-and-after photos, and was told that photos are disclosed for patients who consent to showing their entire face. It was something I had been curious about, so I was glad to hear the answer directly during the consultation. The final design was not immediately performed based only on what we decided during the consultation. On the day of surgery, they checked my eye condition once more, finalized the details, and then proceeded. I felt they kept checking the direction I wanted until the end, which increased my trust Rather than making my eyes glamorous from the beginning, they adjusted only what my eyes needed, so it seemed to suit me well because I wanted natural-looking eyes haha.
