Everyone,, it has been almost three months since I had lateral and medial osteotomies, functional rhinoplasty, and ear-cartilage tip surgery, but I can’t breathe while speaking T_T When my mouth is closed and I breathe only through my nose, I can manage somehow, but as soon as I start talking, no air comes through my nose at all, so I have to hold my breath while speaking. I can’t talk for long, keep stopping midway, and then start again T_T It’s so uncomfortable and difficult, sob... If I talk for a long time, I even get dizzy ;; I currently have adhesions of the mucous membrane on both sides, right? T_T It’s much worse on the right and less severe on the left, but the problem is that I can breathe even less through the left. I’m worried that even after releasing the mucosal adhesions, I may still be unable to breathe and talk like this.
I asked the surgical clinic to perform a CT at two months because I wanted to know whether the airway had become narrow from excessive osteotomy. On the CT, it did not look particularly narrowed. The doctor also said the airway did not look very narrow on CT and didn’t know why air wasn’t entering well, but said that if I continued having trouble breathing, they would widen it through repeat osteotomy.
If the symptoms don’t improve, I’m considering repeat osteotomy to widen it, but they also shaved my dorsal hump. Although I didn’t have osteotomy for the hump, I’m worried this could cause an open roof deformity or something similar T_T..... I didn’t touch the septum during surgery, but could something have gone wrong with it? Could it be nasal valve stenosis or something...? If I gently pull the left nostril outward, which is harder to breathe through, I can breathe better. Sob, this is so frustrating T_T!!!!! If anyone has had a similar problem, could you share whether you resolved it, and if so, where and how? My appearance is completely ruined, and now the function is like this too;; I’m truly speechless.
