It’s been 10 years since I had LASEK at an ophthalmology clinic affiliated with my university.. My vision has almost gone back, so everyone, take good care of your eyes!!...
Even before correction, my vision was -10 diopters because of astigmatism + myopia, and even after correction, both eyes only reached about 0.8. I don’t know if it was the doctor’s skill or if it couldn’t be helped because my eyes were so bad, but even though it was a bit disappointing, living without glasses felt like I could finally live. As for side effects, my dryness got worse, so I basically lived with artificial tears for the whole 10 years? Nothing else..
Then I was doing fine, but maybe because my eyes got dry while working or whatever, it dropped by 0.2 every 2 years... and now both eyes are 0.1. I can manage daily life without glasses, but I definitely wear glasses when driving or working, and now wearing them has become more comfortable than taking them off.. so I’m gradually wearing them even in daily life... And this year, I suddenly developed glare. At first I didn’t know it was glare, and while driving at night I thought, “Wow, why is the windshield so dirty?” but it turned out I couldn’t see well because of glare.
I think leaving dryness untreated was the worst thing for my vision. Everyone, don’t leave dry eyes untreated!!
