Review After 4–5 Years of Implantable Contact Lens Surgery

I had implantable contact lens surgery in January 2022, and it has already been almost 4–5 years. I had deliberated throughout university, then decided after my eyes started rejecting contact lenses. My corrected vision with contact lenses was around -7 or -8, I think, and my astigmatism was so severe that several hospitals told me LASIK was not possible at all and that PRK would require removing too much tissue and might regress. While searching for information, I heard that [Doctor A] at SNU Eye Clinic was skilled, so I even read the doctor’s papers before going. I had a toric ICL, inserted in the posterior chamber. I went alone for surgery, and I do not remember it being particularly painful. I cannot go back to life with glasses. I hope I do not develop side effects, so I have regular checkups every one or two years. They said my vision might not reach 1.0, but it fluctuates between 1.0 and 1.2. I am very satisfied, but I hope everyone researches carefully and has a successful result~
