12-year review of SMILE LASIK at Gangnam Station

I had SMILE LASIK at an ophthalmology clinic near Gangnam Station in 2014. Since vision is difficult to restore once lost, I researched extensively online and in person. SMILE LASIK was uncommon more than ten years ago, so I thought carefully, but because of its markedly lower rate of side effects and rapid recovery, I decided to go ahead despite it costing about twice as much. I needed to be able to resume daily life within a week because I was about to study abroad for the second semester. The surgery itself was so short that the nurse counted down the remaining seconds in real time, and the total time was about three minutes. There was no pain, only a very cold, stinging sensation in my eyes. After spending about an hour in the recovery room, I took a taxi home alone 🤓. What satisfies me most is that I have maintained vision of 1.0/1.2 without glare or other side effects or any decline in vision. Recently my eyes have become slightly dry, perhaps due to the change of seasons and aging (?), so I plan to visit the clinic for an examination. In conclusion, I highly recommend SMILE LASIK 👍 Feel free to leave a comment if you have any questions~!
