Seven months after surgery, I have even forgotten I had it done haha

It has already been seven months since I underwent double-jaw surgery and facial-contouring surgery together at [Clinic A]. My operating surgeon was Dr. Kim Jong-yoon haha. I had been stressed about malocclusion since childhood and had heard that orthodontics alone would not improve it, so I agonized over surgery for a very long time. Now daily life has become easier, and I have completely adjusted to my changed face to the point that I can hardly remember how long I worried before surgery. In the beginning, I was mindful of every detail—how the swelling was going down, how wide I could open my mouth, and what foods I could eat—but now, at seven months, I am so much more comfortable that I barely think about those things. I can eat almost anything without avoiding particular foods, and opening my mouth is much easier, so meals are rarely inconvenient. Most of all, my orthodontic treatment is finished, my teeth are straight, and my bite fits well, so chewing and eating are much easier than before. Before surgery, I was so accustomed to my malocclusion that I did not realize it, but now that I live with a proper bite, the difference feels even greater haha. I thought almost all the swelling had disappeared around month five, but comparing old photos, I can see that my facial lines continued to become more defined even through month seven. Especially as I make expressions, laugh, and talk more, my face feels like it is settling into a more natural shape. It is fascinating that my jawline and overall face shape also seem slimmer as time passes haha. People around me still say whenever they see me that the surgery seems to have gone really well, and I often hear that it looks so natural that they would not know I had surgery unless I told them. When I look in the mirror or take photos, I can feel that my face shape is much softer than before, and I am extremely satisfied that the issues caused by malocclusion also improved. When I first chose [Clinic A], I wanted my facial balance to improve naturally rather than to look artificially different. As time passes, it seems to be settling in the direction I wanted, so I feel I made the right choice having surgery with Dr. Kim Jong-yoon haha. At seven months, daily life has become comfortable enough that I have forgotten I had surgery, and with orthodontics finished, it feels like one major chapter has come to an end. I am looking forward to the remaining changes as my facial lines continue to settle over time 😊
