It’s already been seven months since I had double-jaw surgery and facial contouring together at [Clinic A]! My surgeon was Dr. Kim Jong-yoon haha. I had been very stressed by malocclusion since childhood and had worried about surgery for a long time after being told orthodontics alone would not improve it much. Now daily life is more comfortable, and I’ve completely adjusted to my changed face to the point that I barely remember how long I agonized over surgery before.
At first, I was constantly thinking about the swelling process, how wide I could open my mouth, and what foods I could eat, but at seven months I’m so comfortable that I hardly notice those things anymore haha. I can eat almost anything without restricting myself, and opening my mouth is much easier, so meals are hardly inconvenient. My orthodontic treatment is also finished, my teeth are straight, and my bite fits well, making chewing and eating much easier than before. I had been so used to my malocclusion that I didn’t realize it before, but living with a proper bite now makes the difference feel even greater haha.
I thought almost all the swelling had gone by around month five, but comparing old photos, I can see that my facial contours continued to refine little by little through month seven! Especially as I make expressions, laugh, and talk more, my face seems to be settling in more naturally. It’s fascinating that my jawline and overall face shape also seem slimmer as time passes haha.
People around me still say every time they see me that the surgery turned out really well, and many say they would not know I had surgery unless I told them because it settled so naturally. When I look in the mirror or take photos, I can feel that my face shape is much softer than before, and I’m extremely satisfied that the concerns caused by my malocclusion improved as well.
When I chose [Clinic A], what I wanted was not an overly artificial change but a natural improvement in facial balance. As time passes, it seems to be settling in exactly the direction I wanted, so I feel I made the right choice having surgery with Dr. Kim Jong-yoon haha. At seven months, daily life is comfortable enough that I’ve forgotten I had surgery, and with orthodontics finished too, it feels like one major process has come to an end! I’ll keep looking forward to the remaining changes as my facial contours settle further 😊
