In my case, I was looking into ptosis correction, and I had absolutely no intention of doing incisional surgery. I was the kind of person who wanted to do it with non-incisional adhesion no matter what.. My ideal look was something like An Yujin’s gentle image. I went to consult at three clinics first, and unbelievably, every single one of them recommended incision, so from there my mindset started to shake a little. However, when it came to why incision should be done, I don’t think I was given a sufficiently detailed explanation. I didn’t actually have the surgery then, and the next consultation I had was with Dr. Kim Jeong-hyu. He also said incision was necessary, but he explained in detail why incision was needed and why canthoplasty should be done together as well (eye fat amount, epicanthal folds), so it made sense to me, and I also liked that he brought up the scar and recovery period concerns I had with incision before I even asked. It’s not only that I already had some level of acceptance, but if you go and get a consultation, it really does feel different from other places. When it came to the design on the surgery day, I could feel how passionate he was, and I think that definitely came through in the operation as well? I thought incision meant there would definitely be a scar and swelling would take three months to go down and all that, but it wasn’t like that. Even after about a month, most of the minor swelling had gone down. I couldn’t even see the double-eyelid line scar. It’s not just that the surgery turned out well, but he also broke my preconceived notion about incision. Of course, the bigger thing is still that the surgery turned out beautifully
