The reason I decided to have surgery was that my monolid eyes looked too dull and blurry. My nose is a bit on the higher side, but my eyes were so plain that it felt like only my nose stood out too much. These days even men seem to get double-eyelid surgery a lot, so after thinking about it I went for a consultation first. At Shiseon, the doctor was also a man, so it felt a little more comfortable to talk. I was told that because my skin is thick, I would need incisional double-eyelid surgery. I worried that it might look too obviously surgical. The doctor calmly explained that whether it is non-incisional or incisional, scarring is just a matter of time, and that both can be done without looking very obvious. I told him I wanted a natural look and wanted to have a subtle inner double eyelid, but he said a line set just a little higher than that would suit my eyes better, and explained it with a drawing, so I booked the surgery that way. If my eyes just become clearer, honestly I don’t mind having a little scar, but I think the most important thing is that it doesn’t get set too deeply and end up looking too obvious. If I get the chance after the surgery, I’ll write another update.
