One-year review of double-jaw surgery for a man

This is my one-year review! I had surgery with Director Kim Jong-yoon at IY Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and I’ve adapted well to my new face shape and am living quite happily with it now! To briefly explain why I had the surgery, I had bad habits during my growth period, and after I became an adult those led to worsening facial asymmetry and malocclusion, which made my confidence about my appearance drop a lot. I also started having practical discomfort while living day to day, so after thinking it over I decided to get double-jaw surgery. Because of my malocclusion, I couldn’t just have surgery alone and also needed orthodontic treatment, so I looked mainly at oral and maxillofacial surgery clinics rather than general plastic surgery clinics. I searched through a lot of before-and-after photos from different hospitals, and among them I chose IY Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery because I liked how they corrected facial asymmetry and bite issues naturally rather than making the change look overly dramatic. During the consultation, I told Director Kim Jong-yoon that I wanted the asymmetry to improve naturally rather than looking obviously operated on, and looking at things now, it seems to have settled exactly in the direction I wanted, so I’m even more satisfied. I recently met some people who had seen me back when my asymmetry was severe, and even though I’ve changed a lot, they said there was no surgery look or artificial feeling, and that I seemed like someone who was born that way Hearing that was surprising and made me feel good too. People around me also often say I’ve naturally become more handsome, so my confidence has gone up a lot compared to before. I used to not really like taking photos, but these days I can take them comfortably without any pressure! In the early part of recovery, probably because my asymmetry had been severe to begin with, my jaw joint area sometimes hurt, but after about half a year the swelling mostly went down and everything settled, so that discomfort disappeared too! Now I have no problem doing the exercise I like, and I’m living comfortably. I’m still undergoing orthodontic treatment, but about a year after double-jaw surgery I’ve adapted well to the braces and other appliances, and I love how my appearance becomes more natural as time goes by. At first I was worried about complications from double-jaw surgery, but right now I’m living without any special side effects or discomfort!! Because I had spent such a long time worrying about facial asymmetry and malocclusion, I’m now satisfied with how my face has become balanced in a way that isn’t obvious, just like I wanted. I’m deeply grateful once again to Director Kim Jong-yoon for making the surgery both natural-looking and safe!
