I don’t remember exactly because I got it in early 2019. It was my first surgery after becoming an adult, so I went to the consultation with my mom, and I imagine it was difficult because my mom and I wanted different things. They clearly said what was possible and what wasn’t. I wanted silicone inserted so the bulbous nose would be corrected clearly, but my mom absolutely didn’t want silicone. The director convinced my mom, and we decided on 3 mm or 4 mm of silicone. But when I went in for a follow-up after the surgery, the director said they didn’t put any in because it seemed like it would turn out pretty even without silicone. At the time I was like, huh? and felt disappointed, but now I think it was good that they didn’t put it in. The bulbous nose wasn’t completely corrected, but compared to old photos, it’s really changed a lot. Of course, it’s a bit disappointing that they didn’t reduce the nostrils too... I went to another hospital later and had nostril reduction separately. Since they didn’t put in silicone, I worry much less about contracture, and it turned out naturally, so I think it went well.
