I had such weak eyelid-opening strength that I lived hearing people say I had ptosis, and eventually I decided to get surgery. For men, the top priority is always that it not be noticeable and that it look natural, so I had a lot of worries when looking for a hospital. I visited about four clinics in person for male eye surgery, and because I heard that if the line is made too thick it can look effeminate, I asked them to make it look like a very subtle double eyelid. Before surgery, my upper eyelids were thick and my eyes always looked sleepy. After consultations, I was told that if I did it without incision, it would probably loosen quickly, so I decided to go with male incisional double-eyelid surgery. I was really worried about scars and swelling because it was an incision, but in the end I think choosing the incisional method was the right call. Once all the swelling went down, even when I close my eyes the line is not too much and sits very thin, exactly the subtle double-eyelid look I wanted, so I'm satisfied. It's been 6 months now, most of the swelling is gone, and simply opening my eyes has become much easier. I also got rid of the bad habit of opening my eyes with forehead muscles, so the wrinkles around my eyes have decreased a lot. Since it's a male incisional double-eyelid surgery, the line is firmly fixed, so I don't have to worry about it loosening, and that is the part I like most. People around me don't even really know I had surgery; they just say I look a bit sharper. Honestly, if you're thinking about male double-eyelid surgery, don't get hung up on a flashy line and just make sure it's natural. Incision does not automatically mean unnatural, so the best thing is to visit several clinics and get consultations tailored to your own eyes.
