My square jaw is quite angular, and my chin is long too, so those parts were a big source of stress for me and I decided to get contouring. But when I looked up reviews, I found that the square jaw area is one of the places where you can easily need revision surgery if things go wrong. Naturally, I wanted to avoid revision surgery, so I deliberately looked for a place that does square jaw surgery well and also gives a good front-view result. That’s how I found Cookie, and now that everything has settled well and the surgery seems to have gone without any issues, I’m writing this review :) My swelling seemed to go down pretty quickly, actually. About a week after surgery, the puffy swelling started to go down a bit and the jawline slowly began to show :) Interestingly, the swelling seems to go down from the top first, and the area under the chin is the last to go down! Right after surgery, it was so swollen that I couldn’t tell, but once the major swelling went down, I could really feel that my long, angular jaw had become shorter and more softly shaped. Then around one month later, there was definitely a difference compared with the one-week mark. The remaining swelling made the chin look round, but I could see it gradually becoming sharper. Until the one-month point, I couldn’t open my mouth very wide, which was a bit disappointing, but it was still satisfying enough to accept the discomfort. Still, from two to three months onward, I could eat normally, and I felt comfortable taking side-profile photos. From that point, almost all the minor swelling was gone, and I could no longer really feel any residual swelling. That was also when the sensation in my jaw started returning a lot. I did have a little numbness and discomfort, but it didn’t cause any major problems in daily life. Actually, my face was never that large to begin with; it was narrow side to side and long from top to bottom. So because of the jaw length, I used an L-size mask, but now I can comfortably use an M-size mask. People around me also kept telling me my face had become much smaller, which was really nice to hear :) I had read reviews saying that reducing the jaw can sometimes cause a double chin, but during surgery the director slightly brought the jaw angle forward, so I didn’t develop one. It’s been about half a year since the surgery now, and I have no swelling and no major complications, and I’m doing well. Even the numbness and discomfort are almost gone now. I’m living normally, just like before. My side profile used to be a real complex for me, but now it’s actually the part I’m most confident about. Maybe that’s why I’ve been taking more side-profile selfies lately. I’m so grateful to the director for making it fit my face and making it beautiful :)
