I’ve been going around for consultations because I’m worried about bulbous nose. At the consultation, I simply said I wanted the flaring seen from the front to be corrected. The doctor looked at my current nose condition and explained in detail the limits of what could be achieved with bulbous nose correction and the subtle scarring that could occur with alar reduction. Still, they said they would be very careful about the alar reduction scar and operate so it wouldn’t be visible from the outside. I liked that the consultation was explained honestly and realistically, and they said that side balance was just as important as the front view effect, and they told me honestly what level of change I could expect. During the consultation, they also showed me before-and-after photos of cases with nose shapes similar to mine, and there were many cases with good results, so it was helpful to refer to. I haven’t decided on surgery yet, but I definitely felt it was a useful consultation.
