I’m a woman in my 20s, with sunken eyes and a narrow space between my eyes and eyebrows. My eyes are on the closer-set side. I visited a total of 4 places for consultations. At every hospital, the consultation went in the order of consultant-director-consultant. I wanted non-incisional surgery. I wanted an in-out line.
1. ㅈㅅㅌ Waiting time was under 10 minutes. A/S for 1 year. One postoperative care session. Director - Said that because my eyes are very uneven, it would probably come undone with non-incisional surgery and that I would likely need incisional surgery. Said I couldn’t do a lateral canthoplasty because the bone is close. Said that to get an in-out line, I would need a little upper epicanthoplasty or medial epicanthoplasty. Conclusion: incisional double eyelid surgery + medial epicanthoplasty (with a slight upper epicanthoplasty too) Consultant - Generally kind. Total 142 under the condition of providing review photos. It was more of a recommendation than pressure to book.
2. ㅌㅇㅅ Waiting time 20-30 minutes. A/S for 1 year. Postoperative care for 1 month. Director - Said it would be difficult to get an in-out line because of the epicanthal folds, and that it would become an inline. Said that even with upper epicanthoplasty, the line would not be visible from the inner corner of the eye. Said non-incisional surgery was possible. Conclusion: only non-incisional double eyelid surgery without canthoplasty. Consultant - Recommended booking. 72 under the condition of providing review photos.
3. ㅇㄴ Waiting time almost 1 hour. A/S for 1 year. One postoperative care session. I scheduled a surgery date and came back. Director - Seemed busy. Consultation was 5 minutes. Said that because of the epicanthal folds, I would need upper epicanthoplasty to get an in-out line. Did not recommend medial epicanthoplasty because my eyes are on the closer-set side. Said non-incisional surgery was also possible. Conclusion: natural adhesion double eyelid surgery + upper epicanthoplasty Consultant - There was pressure to book. Said they would give a discount if I scheduled a surgery date before leaving. Before telling me the price, asked how much I had expected. I liked the consultation content and the hospital’s review photos, so I scheduled a surgery date and came back. If canceling the 200,000 won advance payment, they deduct 10% and refund the rest.
4. ㅇㄴㅋ Waiting time 10-20 minutes. A/S for 2 years. No postoperative care. Director - Extremely kind. Explained the surgical method in detail. Carefully tried lines of different thicknesses and recommended the line that suited me. But even though I’m not lacking in eye-opening strength, kept bringing up ptosis correction. Conclusion: non-incisional double eyelid surgery + ptosis correction + upper epicanthoplasty Consultant - The unfriendliest consultant among the hospitals I visited. 143 under the condition of providing review photos, 127 if excluding ptosis correction.
So I visited these 4 places in total, and the reason I chose the 3rd one is that when I was researching online, it was the place I had been most looking forward to after seeing review photos. The director’s consultation wasn’t exactly very kind or meticulous and ended really quickly, but within that short time, they understood the exact line I wanted and said clearly that it would come out with upper epicanthoplasty + natural adhesion, without unnecessarily recommending other procedures, so I trusted them.
