First, I had had a MisKo procedure + a total of 1.8 cc of semi-permanent filler 5-6 years ago, and this is my first rhinoplasty.
1. ㅈㅇㅈ Plastic Surgery I went there because I heard it was a clinic famous for male noses. The overall atmosphere was very luxurious and professional. On my first visit, I filled out a chart, had a brief consultation with the consultant, waited a little, and then consulted with the director. The consultation was generally short, and the director touched different parts of my nose and gave me an estimate for how the surgery would be done. In my case, he said there was no need to remove the semi-permanent filler, and recommended placing very thin silicone (1 mm) on top of it + osteotomy + raising the nasal tip with septal cartilage and ear cartilage. The surgery cost was 3 million won (if booking surgery on the same day). They did not take a CT scan or photos. They did not pressure me to book surgery, and everyone was kind. However, despite the good price, I kept feeling uneasy about the director saying the foreign material did not need to be removed, so I eventually decided on another clinic. (When I asked the consultant, she said they would review the foreign material and detailed surgical plan again through a precise preoperative examination before surgery, but I felt very hesitant because the examination would only be done after putting down a surgery deposit and confirming the booking.)
2. ㅇㅂㅋ Plastic Surgery It is a clinic that opened not long ago, so there were not many reviews, but its rating on a community was decent, so I booked and went there. All the staff were really kind. As soon as I arrived, they took a CT scan and photos (consultation fee 30,000 won). I had a brief consultation with the consultant, and then the director looked at the CT images with me and explained what type of surgery would suit me. Unlike the first clinic, they said they would remove as much of the foreign material as possible, such as the semi-permanent filler and MisKo threads, insert silicone by the amount removed to raise the nasal bridge, and place septal cartilage and ear cartilage in the nasal tip to correct the bulbous nose. They also said I had severe deviated septum and recommended functional rhinoplasty, and the total came out to 4.53 million won including functional nose surgery (discounted price for a photo event). When I honestly said that the financial burden felt big for a first rhinoplasty, they discounted it to a reasonable price. The consultation time was about 1 hour, the longest of all, but it was the most satisfying consultation.
3. ㅊㅇ Plastic Surgery I booked because I heard it was a clinic famous for revision rhinoplasty. The staff were also very kind, and the consultant was very friendly and kind. The surgical plan I discussed with the director was silicone implant, hump osteotomy, bulbous nose correction, nasal tip cartilage repositioning, correction of septal deviation, septal cartilage, ear cartilage, and foreign material removal (semi-permanent filler and MisKo). Unlike clinic 2, they said functional nose surgery was not necessary, and instead said it would be good to do an osteotomy to make the nasal bridge and overall nose shape look sharper. With partial photo disclosure, the price was 4.7 million won, the highest among the clinics I visited, but the atmosphere made the high price understandable. The consultation fee was 10,000 won.
4. ㅇㅂㄹ Plastic Surgery This was the last clinic I visited. I had seen it a few times in comments in a community and decided to get a consultation. As soon as I arrived, they took a CT scan, I had a very short consultation with the consultant, and then I immediately consulted with the director. As soon as the director saw my CT images, he immediately advised against plastic surgery and honestly told me right away that I did not need surgery. He said that because of the semi-permanent filler in my nasal bridge, it would be fortunate if the rhinoplasty ended well, but there was also a nonzero possibility that it could end badly, so he did not recommend surgery. He even asked me back whether other clinics had also not advised against surgery, and when I told him the surgical plans recommended by other clinics, he said that if it were him, he would absolutely not recommend surgery. When I asked whether functional nose surgery was needed because of deviated septum, he actually showed me the director's CT image and firmly said that if I had no problem breathing, there was absolutely no need to do it. Honestly, among the clinics I visited, this was the one I trusted the most. If he had not advised against it, I think I would have put down a deposit and booked surgery right away. The consultation fee was free.
In conclusion, I booked surgery at the second clinic I visited. What the director at the last clinic said still weighed heavily on my mind, but because I wanted to fix my complex, I ultimately decided to have surgery. I chose the second clinic because it felt like a private clinic? with one director, and I liked the surgical method that did not involve osteotomy. I will also post a surgery review later.
