I lived well after LASIK. Back then, did LASEK even exist? Or maybe it did, but LASIK was the mainstream choice. That was 26 years ago now... Of course there was no SMILE LASIK back then either.. Anyway, I had LASIK in college and lived fine without contacts, but the reason that was possible was because I do not drive... In the end, I can’t see well now, but I do not want to wear glasses, so I am getting by with orthokeratology lenses. I’m in my 40s, but there are still eye clinics that fit orthokeratology lenses! Most of them apparently refuse because they say it is presbyopia...
