I hated wearing glasses and I hated contact lenses, so I lived while not being able to see, and Smile LASIK brought me into the light. The cost is pretty high, but the surgery finished quickly and there was almost no pain. As someone who is now 5 years out from the surgery, my vision has barely declined, but I do have severe dry eye syndrome. I think this varies from person to person, because a friend I recommended it to didn’t get dry eyes. I had a second surgery because of corneal erosion, so mine seems to be worse. If your eyes hurt whenever you wear contacts, be careful when deciding on LASIK. From the outside, it looked like my cornea had no damage, so I didn’t know, but after LASIK my cornea weakened and became loose. For people like that, LASEK seems like the better option. Fortunately, after the erosion surgery, I haven’t had corneal erosion even once, so I’ve been living comfortably!
