Review of IOL implantation surgery from -14 to 1.0

I was someone with extremely severe astigmatism and very poor vision. As soon as I turned 20, I thought about LASIK, but although my corneal thickness was fine, my vision was so bad that even if I had it done, I would only get 0.4, and they said only undercorrection would be possible, so I did not get it. When they recommended lens implantation surgery, I did not do it because at that young age, 500 felt too expensive! Now I am in my late 20s, and because I wear contact lenses every day and hate having to pack glasses, lens cases, saline, and so many things every time I travel, I decided to get lens implantation surgery again! They say you can return to daily life after 2-3 days, but I strongly recommend taking a week off. Because the lenses are ordered from overseas before surgery, it cannot be done on the same day like LASIK or LASEK! With LASIK and LASEK, the machine inputs numerical values and proceeds, but lens implantation does not work that way, so they explained that you may not get the vision you want. They also said that if you end up around 0.8, there is a method of shaving a very small amount of the cornea to bring it up to 1.0. Fortunately, I got 1.0!! During surgery, everything except the eyes is covered with some kind of cloth? and the most painful part was peeling off the tape stuck to my face lol… On days 1-2, it felt like I could not see in front of me and everything was white… and my eyeballs were so swollen.. my face was shocking. Now I am just so happy that I do not have to look for my glasses when I wake up, that I can go out without wearing those glasses you wear before bed, and that I do not have to deal with dry eyes from wearing contacts. The downside is the ring phenomenon??? But now, at 5 months, it is at a level that does not really bother me!! The price is brutal, but my quality of life improved so much that even if I went back, I think I would do it again!! I recommend it to people who are worrying because of poor vision. I am not good at researching on my own, so I got lens implantation surgery with the same doctor and at the same hospital where my older brother had LASEK. Do not go to an assembly-line eye clinic; choose carefully, seriously!!!! Double eyelids or noses can be redone, but your eyes are precious. My older brother is also living well without side effects after LASEK ~~
